What Is Home Infusion Therapy?

Our home infusion therapy is the administration of medications or fluids, by registered nurses, through IV (intravenous), subcutaneous, or intramuscular routes in the comfort of our patient’s home. Getting treatment this way helps reduce hospital stays, lowers the risk of infections, and allows patients to get well and manage chronic conditions in familiar surroundings.
Before we get to you, our registered nurses confirm the delivery of the necessary supplies and equipment they need to administer treatment. We also prepare your medication, and provide ongoing monitoring and education.

What we offer

Infusion Therapies We Offer

Our team is trained in administering a wide range of infusion treatments tailored to each patient’s medical condition:

IVIG (Intravenous Immunoglobulin)

This type of treatment targets immune deficiencies, autoimmune diseases, and certain neurological conditions. Our nurses prepare every patient to ensure a safe, slow infusion process while continuously monitoring the process for side effects and to ensure every patient’s comfort.

IV Antibiotics

For patients with severe infections requiring long-term antibiotics (e.g., osteomyelitis, cellulitis, sepsis). We provide complete support, including line care, dosing schedules, and side effect management.

IV Fluids

We also use IV fluids to treat dehydration or maintain hydration in patients who cannot take fluids orally. IV fluids are also used to improve hydration levels rapidly, which is common in post-op recovery or during illness.

Steroids

Steroid administration is a delicate process. At Hygieia Infusion, we administer steroids for conditions like multiple sclerosis flare-ups, severe allergies, or inflammatory diseases, according to each case’s needs. We follow specific protocols to reduce side effects and ensure patient well-being.

Immunosuppressants

We administer immunosuppressants for transplant recipients or autoimmune disease to ensure proper management and reduce rejections. Our registered nurses follow your physician’s instructions closely, watching for signs of infection or adverse reactions.

Enzyme Replacement Therapy

Enzyme replacement therapy is used in treating genetic or metabolic disorders. These therapies require experienced staff to deliver infusions safely, monitor effectiveness, and manage complex regimens. Our nurses are skilled in administering enzyme replacement therapies properly to improve our patient’s chances.

Hemophilia Treatment

A strong genetic and rare condition, hemophilia infusions are clotting factor replacements to manage bleeding episodes efficiently or provide preventive care. Our registered nurses ensure precise dosing and offer patient/caregiver education for effective care when needed.

Subcutaneous IG (SubQ IG)

For patients who require regular immunoglobulin infusions but prefer a more flexible, slower-release option, we provide subcutaneous IG infusions in their homes or wherever they feel comfortable. Our team assists with training for self-administration, if appropriate.

IM Injections (Intramuscular)

Intramuscular injections include long-acting medications, hormone therapies, and other prescribed injections that provide relief for different health conditions. We provide safe administration with monitoring and proper documentation, supporting primary administrators in creating proper treatment plans .
